Advertising &
The Great Depression of 2009 |

Why Advertising
Works
Advertising has always been the main engine that
drives the powerhouse of democracy, capitalism.
I our way of government much depends upon wealth
and wealth creation. Ayn Rand said it best in
her book Atlas Shrugged, capitalism allows for a
person to trade the best of their goods and
services for the best that another person
produces. The farmer needs the blacksmith to
create his plows to till his soil, the
blacksmith needs the farmer to produce the food,
he, his family and his workers need.
In a
society as complex as ours, we all need each
other equally. What's best about our system is
the fact that any person can enter the
marketplace with his/her idea or service. The
marketplace; consumers decide the relative value
and both the consumer and the producer win. But
what you may not realize is the fact that
advertising is what exposed the product or
service to the consumer. A company that makes
sails for sail boats will die unless owners of
sailboats know of the company, its reputation,
and its products. The only way is with
advertising.
Word-of-mouth to be sure is the best, but to
generate word-of-mouth advertising, someone must
be the first to spread the word. So again, it
all begins with advertising. When a new movies
opens, the Hollywood publicity machine must
“initially” get the word out. But after the
first viewers of the new movie spread the word
to their friends, the movie takes off and
becomes a blockbuster. All this depends on
initial advertising to start the ball rolling.
Have
you ever been to a blockbuster video store to
see a movie on the shelf that you vaguely
remember as “coming to a theater near you
soon...” What happened is that movie opened and
died within a week and eventually came to your
local video store. Why did this happen?
Because the movie had no marketing budget.
There was no money to generate the initial buzz
a movie requires to start that ball rolling.
Smart
and successful businesses all know that
advertising backed up by a skillful marketing
plan are as essential to sustained profits as
the phone, rent and insurance. You simply can
not skimp or avoid advertising. But what you
can do is find more efficient and cost effective
methods to get your message out.
Of
course we'd recommend fizzlers.com. We can show
you how to maximize your advertising
bang-for-the buck in amazing new ways.
Recently, President Obama showed us new ways to
raise campaign money and a tremendous
get-out-the-vote effort by skillfully using the
Internet to beat the pants off his sage old
competitors who kept doing things the same old
way. I telling you that today is a new day. If
you want your piece of the new pie, you must
learn to compete within the new marketing
paradigm; we can show you how.

Is There a Way to Determine
What Works?
The answer
to this question has been around for decades and is
deceptively simple. How does one determine if their
advertising is working.
The most
obvious way is by looking at your sales trends but this is
woefully inaccurate. What? Yes, inaccurate.
Suppose you own a nursery and garden center and you get a
sudden up-tick in sales just about the same time you began
to advertise. You'll naturally assume your advertising
worked but you could be making a deadly mistake. A
competing nursery could have gone out of business.
Another nursery may have passed a 15% increase to it prices.
Another nursery could have sustained a change in management
that offends existing customers. All these reasons and
more could account for you increase in sales; not the
advertising.
Thinking
all is well with your marketing, you spend more and more and
soon you notice no better results.
At
fizzlers.com, we've developed unique technique to give you
both direct and indirect data that will show you
definitively what is actually working or not. We know
that you are in business to make a profit and we earn our
profits by helping you earn yours. Our techniques are
proprietary and fool proof.

best help you grow.

On October 12, 1929 the world saw an economic cataclysm that lasted
nearly a dozen years and was only recovered from because of big budget
public works projects that introduced to Americans the concept of
deficit spending by its government combined with an emerging
military-industrial complex that arguably saved the world for the dark
ages of sustained recession.
And now, here we are again, in 2008/2009 faced with the same upheaval to
our financial systems and no one seems to have a clue about how we got
here. There are many theories and facts to suggest how, but this article
is about how your business can survive and in fact grow in these
desperate economic times.
My name is Mike Way. I am the CEO of fizzlers.com. I've been in the
advertising business since 1987; fizzlers.com, my revolutionary
marketing machine, has been around since 2004. Our concept has
never been needed more than now. If you've read any of our articles over
the last few years you already know how we can save you money and
deliver the customers. If you need a refresher,
click here, and read some of my earlier articles.
For now, let's concentrate on the power you need now to survive, thrive
and grow.
Most of you reading this are most likely accustomed to "hard" advertising
like mailers, newspapers, ad-tabloids, and free-to-the-public magazines.
All of these can be good, but they all depend on the efficiency of the
distribution method. Besides that, because they all require massive
efforts for paper suppliers, printers, ink suppliers, computer driven
presses, driver delivery services and much more, the cost of being in
these medium is justifiably expensive.
At fizzlers.com we provide you the same access to the public, but that
access is nearly instantaneous, changeable on-the-fly, and best of all
we save a fortune on all the aforementioned requirement of
hard-advertising and pass the saving right along to you, the customer.
Of course the cost of developing the fizzlers.com database driven
website was enormous, but we manage those cost by acquiring new customers
at modest cost creating a win-win for everyone.
You may ask, “... what's in it for me?”
Think of this way, lets say you own a
great restaurant and want to reach people in your immediate area of your
business who don't even know you're there. Face it, consumers are
creatures of habit. They are used to the chain restaurants and will
drive right past your establishment to go miles beyond to go to a
generic eatery where they get the same fair every time. At fizzlers.com
we will design a web-ad or eCoupon for you or use your existing paper ad
and and place you in our database.
We spend most of our time letting your
customers know that our advertisers are there for them. When they come
to our site, they enter their zip code and we show them every
restaurant, including yours, that is within a specified distance from
where they are.
If you've advertised with us, they will
see your listing, your coupons and your specials. This gives you a more
than EXCELLENT opportunity to grow and get new customers. We even have a
unique coupon for what we call “relationship advertising” called Private
Stock coupons.
Best of all for you, our daily users use fizzlers.com wherever
they are. At work, they enter the zip code of that location while at
home, they enter the zip code of their home. Many who travel the area
will input a zip code of another state, city or locale to find a
fizzlers.com barber or restaurant or any of 100 other useful categories
commonly sought after by our users.
Fizzlers.com is currently recruiting business all over the United States
and soon, your local site will expose your business to an even larger
national database of fizzlers users.
Again, why is that important to you? Because the larger we become, the
more visible you become to fizzlers.com all across the country. |
So back to the recession; the depression and the economic downturn; it
is important that you stretch your advertising dollars for as far as
possible. At fizzlers.com you can advertise for a year what it cost you
to be in packaged mailer for just one week in a limited mailing area.
With fizzlers.com you can reach hundreds-of-thousands of customers
directly, as opposed to “hoping” to get to just a few percents of the
30,000 homes the mailers target. Further, not a single of our users
toss your ad in the trash. Think of it; when you get a mailer or a
tabloid ad paper, do you look it over or toss it in the trash? Uh huh...
the trash!
At fizzlers.com, our customers are actually looking for something and
when they find your ad, they find you and will most likely reward you
with new business.
We're fizzlers.com, more than a new way of doing business. We're the
future... we're your future... in these tough economic times.

ADDENDUM
What caused today's problem?
Most
think that the mortgage mess caused our problems. In part,
that's true. But the real culprit is hiding. Who? The oil
companies and the speculators. In their zeal to
increase profits to profane levels, they gouged the public
in spite of the Bush disregarded Sherman Anit-Trust Act.
This act, established in the 20s to prevent key industries
with a natural monopoly from gouging excessive profits form
the public when no plausible competition exist because of
the cost of infrastructure to construct certain industries.
As fuel
prices rose, Americans stopped going to restaurants, movies,
malls and general recreation. Netflix delivered more
movies to hard-working Americans who decided to find a new
life at home.
After a
few months, the aforementioned businesses began to notice
that their revenues were down. They began to cut staff,
part-timers and supplies. That trickled down to those who
were using their extra income to service their soon-to-reset
sub-prime mortgages. Eventually, the lost of money in
circulation began to be felt on local credit markets which
eventually trickled up to Wall Street and now the rest is
history-in-the-making.
Whatever,
we are where we are. To survive, you've got to retool to
figure a way to keep commerce going while our leaders figure
out a way to rebuild our national economy. The irony
is the our leaders will need the help of Main Street, YOU,
to rebuild our national treasury. Americans have
always rolled up our sleeves to get the job done. We can
help.
|
In the end, it doesn't matter who or what caused our economic woes. It's
easy to blame it on foreign cars, Chinese goods, outsourcing jobs and
the like. The bottom line that that this is our country and we "have" to
rebuild it for our children's future. But after we rebuild it,
let's pay as much attention to our leaders as we pay to our football
teams. Let's have tailgate parties to discuss ways to keep our
politicians honest and protecting our future and our country like they
promised to do when they asked for our vote.
A record number of
Americans voted in November 2008. I believe that they believe like
me, "I want my country back!" Never should we allow Wall Street
hacks to refer to themselves as "rulers of the world" while we are the
grist and the power of the economic engine that makes Wall Street
possible in the first place.
Use fizzlers.com to
rebuild your business and then let's keep our eye on the ball to see that
the Unnecessary Economic Depression of 2008/2009 never happens again.
